The City of Launceston RSL Band has been adopted by council as the official band of the City of Launceston, Tasmania.
The band meets on Thursday nights for rehearsal from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. It is a traditional Brass Band composed of brass and percussion instrumentalists. The band's repertoire includes marches, hymns and traditional brass band music as you would expect, but the modern brass band can move into pop, rock and jazz styles as well and almost anything could be on the programme.
Rehearsals are open to all, come along for a listen. Players of all standards, from beginners to professional musicians, are most welcome to come and 'have a blow' with us or, better yet, join us as members. Beginners of all ages are welcome and tuition is available.
